For more than 50 years, the Downtown Denver Partnership has assembled the brightest leaders within our community to address Downtown’s challenges and identify ways to enhance its appeal to workers, visitors and residents. The Partnership continues to seek out individuals who demonstrate a passion for Downtown Denver and a sense of civic responsibility. Program participants have been recognized for outstanding leadership qualities and community and civic involvement. They are the future leaders of Downtown Denver.
In its ninth year, the Downtown Denver Leadership Program provides an intense immersion in urban issues, policies and practices through an annual project that challenges the participants’ ability to research, analyze and collaborate. Throughout the work on the project, participants are also challenged to set goals and enhance their skills as leaders.
The 2012 Program project is The Downtown Area Plan: Five Years Later.
As the guide for the next 20 years of Downtown development, it is essential that the Downtown Area Plan reflect the evolving nature of the urban core. The 2012 class will examine the Plan’s five Vision Elements – a city that is Prosperous, Walkable, Diverse, Distinctive and Green – and assess the progress made over the past five years and the opportunities and challenges remaining.
