Marketplace on the Mall

If you’ve walked down the 16th Street Mall between Welton and Stout Streets, you probably noticed the newest addition to the retail environment. As part of the Marketplace on the Mall program, six new kiosks are now in place and are occupied by an assortment of local and national tenants. The kiosks are owned by the Downtown Denver Partnership, and leased to retailers carefully selected by Cord Rauba, DDP’s new 16th Street Marketplace Manager.

One of the best aspects of this program is that it operates as an incubator for businesses looking to test their products in the Downtown market before moving into an in-line store with higher rents. With nearly 50,000 people using the 16th Street Mall on a daily basis, they have ample opportunity to learn what works and what doesn’t.

Here is a list of who you can find out on the Mall right now…

Hats & Hats - a local company featuring functional and fashionable hats.

Mile High Hippie Hardware - a fun use featuring tie-dye shirts and colorful and crazy items so popular in the ‘60s.

Hootenanny Candy - a local company featuring 100% hand-made candies, caramels, toffees.

NYS Collection - a high-quality national vendor offering affordable sunglasses and stylish sunglasses.

ROK’D - a local company featuring invisible film protective coverings for cell phones, iPads and all the latest gadgets in addition to selling the Otter Box brand protective cases popular with the Colorado sports enthusiasts.

When I Was A Kid - a local vintage toys and collectibles store featuring a variety of vintage games and toys for all ages.
